Complete Guide to Shipping Your Wetsuit | Packing Methods and a Pre-Shipment Checklist

Complete guide to shipping a wetsuit by courier | Packing and pre-checklist

When requesting wetsuit repairs, we often receive questions such as, "How should I send it?" and "Is this packaging okay?"
Here we have summarized the best way to pack a wetsuit when sending it by courier, as well as points to check before sending it .

1. Three things to check before sending

First, take a photo

It's a good idea to take a photo of the entire item plus a close-up of the area you're concerned about so you can see what it looked like before the repair.
If you send us your inquiry via LINE consultation or repair request form, we will be able to provide you with a preliminary estimate smoothly.

② Stop repairing with glue yourself for now

Many people think, "I'll just fill it with glue and then send it," but
The more you repair it yourself, the more difficult and expensive the repairs may become, depending on the condition of the fabric.
As a professional, it would be helpful if you could send the parts that concern you as they are without making any changes.

3) Is there a large amount of sand or debris inside?

Even if it's just a light touch, check to make sure there isn't a lot of sand or debris inside the wetsuit.
If you are concerned, rinse it quickly with fresh water and dry it in the shade → it is best to wait until it is completely dry before packing it up .

2. Best Packaging Method | Folding Instructions and Important Points

① Fold the rubber sides together

Rubbing the surface rubber against each other can cause scratches, so
It is recommended to fold the jersey side (fabric side) on the outside .

  • Make sure that the zipper and metal parts do not come into direct contact with the rubber surface.
  • Fold roughly and large, with as few creases as possible.

② If possible, use a double layer of plastic bags and cardboard

To prevent the risk of the item getting wet during transport due to rain or other reasons, it is safe to place it in a large transparent bag and then place it in a cardboard box.

  • Thick garbage bags are OK (as long as they don't tear)
  • Just tie the opening of the bag loosely or secure it lightly with tape.

Then, place it in a cardboard box with as much space as possible .
If you pack it too tightly, it will be more likely to develop unnecessary wrinkles and creases.

3. Use a little cushioning

The wetsuit itself is made of cushioned material,
Extreme shock protection is not necessary. If necessary, simply laying down a thin layer of paper or bubble wrap will suffice.

3. Things to write on the delivery slip for peace of mind

To ensure smooth delivery, please write the following on the courier delivery slip:

  • Product name: "Wetsuit (repair request)"
  • Remarks: "Do not bend" or "Be careful not to get wet"

Also, write the name on the outside of the box with magic marker.
"Repair requested item available"
If you could write this, the factory will be able to understand the details immediately.

4. Tips for sending multiple items

You may send 2 or 3 pieces at a time.
In that case, please fold each item lightly and then place them all together in a large bag and cardboard box .

If there is a wetsuit that you would like to use as a priority,

  • Put only the one item you want to prioritize in a separate bag
  • Put a note inside saying "Priority this wetsuit"

If you can communicate this to the factory, we will do our best to accommodate your request.

5. Common No-No Patterns

  • Shipped wet in a plastic bag
  • I send it off after applying a thick layer of waterproof spray or commercially available glue.
  • The zipper part is folded inward and packed so that it rubs against the rubber surface.

These can cause mold, bad odors, and damage to fabrics .
Even if you think you may have done it, please tell us honestly and we will consider the best course of action based on that assumption.

If you are unsure, just take a photo before sending it by courier.
